Za’atar Pasta Salad is perfect refreshing summer salad with any kind of pasta you prefer and delicious Za’atar spice blend.
This Za’atar Pasta Salad is another beautiful tasteful lunch, made in several minutes, the same as Anchovy Pasta Salad . Quick, easy, tasteful with every ingredient in the fridge, such a lunch is ready in several minutes and the only ingredient requiring stove top activity is pasta.
Always two minutes less boiling than package instruction says. For our taste.

So, while pasta is slowly boiling, you prepare the rest of ingredients, drain the pasta and combine it all.
The result is healthy and vibrant lunch, Mediterranean way.
If you started to think where to get Za’atar, don’t worry ! You can make it at home because I am positive you have all the ingredients in your spices collection: same measure of ground cumin, ground black pepper, sumac, salt, sesame seeds, majoram and thyme. If sumac not at hand, few drops of lemon juice instead will be fine.
Since past shape is up to your choice let me just say that 1 ½ cup of orzo I used, boiled for 8 minutes makes 3 ½ cup of pasta ready to combine with the rest of ingredients.
Za'atar Pasta Salad
Za'atar Pasta Salad is perfect refreshing summer salad with any kind of pasta you prefer and delicious Za'atar spice blend.
- 1 ½ cup Orzo pasta
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp Za'atar spice
- 10 cherry tomatoes, sliced
- 1 ½ cup crumbled Feta cheese
- 1 ½ cup English cucumber, cubed
- Pepperoncini or chili, chopped, to taste
Bring water with a pinch of salt to boil.
Add Orzo pasta and boil according to package instructions. My Orzo needed eight minutes to be al dente.
While pasta is gently boiling, combine olive oil, Za'atar, Feta, tomatoes and cucumber ina medium sized bowl.
Drain pasta under running cold water to cool it quickly.
Combine with the rest of ingredients and serve.
