Leftovers Galette

Leftovers Galette is budget friendly savory galette to use all the leftovers, be it Thanksgiving or any other holiday party. Instead of sandwiches, you use pie crust or homemade dough and there you have an easy dinner everybody loves!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb crazy dough
  • 1 cup leftover ham /sausages / bacon or everything together, cubed
  • 1 cup semi hard cheese, cubed
  • 2 tsp dry oregano
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbsp butter, room temperature, optional
  • Fresh chilis, sliced, to taste
  • 1 yolk with 2 Tbsp water for egg wash

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / 356 F.
  2. Use your sheet pan dish and cover with parchment paper.

  3. Roll the dough sing rolling pin to be oversized, so you can overlap it easy. Place it on your prepared pan.

  4. In a bowl, combine leftover ham, bacon, turkey; any type of meat you use.

  5. Add cheese to the mixture.

  6. Combine gently and add oregano, salt, and ground black pepper to taste.

  7. Pour the filling into the center of a dough and spread evenly all over so that 2 inches of your dough are free to be easily folded.

  8. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling to create a galette shape.

  9. Egg wash the edges and put few sliced chillis on the top of the filling.

  10. To get glossy look, garnish the top with small slices of butter ( optional ).

  11. Bake for about 20 minutes at 180C/356F or until the edges are golden brown.
