Ingredients

  • 400 grams ground turkey meatballs, raw; makes 17 meatballs
  • 1 ½ cup spaghetti sauce ( tomato sauce or pomodori pelatti )
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil for frying the meatballs
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil for the skillet
  • 250 grams mozzarella cheese, sliced; makes 1 1/3 cup
  • Fresh thyme leaves to garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / 356 F.

  2. Heat one Tbsp of olive oil in the skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs. It should take 15 minutes.

  3. Spread one Tbsp of olive oil on the skillet bottom and pour marinara sauce in it. Pelatti work well too.

  4. Gently drop meatballs into marinara and garnish with mozzarella.

  5. Bake for 25 minutes. Mozzarella will bubble beautifully.

  6. Spoon the bake to serve with your favourite bread and salad.

  7. Garnish with fresh thyme leaves or Italian seasoning and enjoy.
