Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup rye flour
  • 1 ¼ cup all purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp dry yeast
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 ½ tsp Speculoos spices mix
  • ¾ cup honey
  • 6 Tbsp butter, room temperature + for the pan
  • 3 Tbsp almond slices

Instructions

  1. In a small pot, slowly melt honey and butter. Take away from the heat and leave aside.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180 C / 356 F.
  3. Butter the bread pan.
  4. Beat the eggs and add them to melted honey and butter.
  5. In medium sized bowl, combine rye and all purpose flour, dry yeast, spices mix and salt.
  6. Add wet ingredients and mix until well combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the bread pan and sprinkle with almond slices.
  8. Bake for 38 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.

  9. Serve with your favourite spread.
