How to prepare this healthy French toast recipe?
I started with toast: sliced it and left it aside for a while. In the meantime, I enriched classic hummus with chopped pistachios, chives and chili powder. While hummus was in the fridge, I prepared vegetables leftovers: green bell pepper, celery, carrot slices and radishes to grab hummus once everything was served and ready to eat.
When making your own version, you may add cucumber, zucchinis, lettuce, cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage leaves, chayote , fennel, kohlrabi, spring onions and so many more to serve with hummus toast ……
The easiest way to prepare your toast slices is to dip them into whisked eggs and then transfer to sesame seeds mix in the other plate or shallow bowl. It is important you cover them completely with sesame seeds, using your finger tips to make sure they are completely covered before frying.

Sesame French Toast with Hummus

Ingredients
- 3 slices toast
- 2 Tbsp butter for the pan
- 2 eggs
- 3 Tbsp white sesame seeds
- 3 Tbsp black sesame seeds
- Salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 1 cup classic hummus
- 2 Tbsp pistachio, roasted, chopped
- 1 Tbsp chive, chopped
- Chili powder to taste
- Vegetable slices to taste
Instructions

Prepare two shallow bowls: one for eggs to whisk and the other to combine white and black sesame.

Cut toast slices to strips, 1centimeter ( 0.4 inches ) wide.

Place several layers of paper towels on a plate to transfer French toast, once cooked.

Prepare skillet and melt the butter on medium heat not to burn the seeds. If butter is too hot, your seeds may burn and become bitter!

Dip toast slices into whisked eggs and cover each one with sesame mix using your fingers.

Fry on both sides to get golden brown color. It should take 2 – 3 minutes.

Leave on kitchen towels to soak extra oil, if any.

In small bowl, combine classic hummus, pistachio, chives and chili powder.

Assemble hummus, French toast slices and vegetables and enjoy.
