Cotton Candy Latte is homemade candy coffee with some ruby chocolate. Cotton candy melts in no time and replaces sugar in your latte!
This recipe brings back the memories of the circuses traveling around Europe when my sister and I were little girls. Moira Orfei Circus is the one I remember, oh so well !
Before we entered the huge circus tent, we did some sightseeing all around the place and were so excited to see the clowns, acrobats, lions, elephants, and colourful dresses people wore…
Needless to say, both of us got cotton candy because coming to see the show would be unthinkable without it. You know the way it works: sticky fingers, dirty faces, mom cleaning us both before the show started and us not caring about it at all since we were too excited to notice anything else but sandy floor expecting the clowns to make us laugh. Nice memories, would you agree?
Few days ago I did our usual weekly shopping and spotted cotton candy packed in plastic buckets: pink and blue. I bough pink one and few days later started to think about how to implement it into anything eatable or drinkable to bring the memories back.
Since making an espresso shot is never a problem at our home, the things started to roll. Let me just mention one simple idea for those friends preferring liquids: cotton candy works the same way as syrup available on line. What this cotton candy coffee asks for is some ruby chocolate chips, turned on milk frother machine and prepared latte glass to have candy coffee recipe ready to enjoy in seven minutes.
Before you read the recipe, there are two questions you may find interesting:
Is cotton candy from Italy?
The origins of cotton candy trace back centuries, all the way to Renaissance Italy. Back then, chefs melted and spun sugar manually. The process included them pulling the candy into thin strands using forks and draping it over broom handles.
What does France call cotton candy?
barbe Ă papa !
I really love the adorable names the French have for things. What we call candy floss, and the Americans cotton candy, is barbe Ă papa in French – daddy’s beard!
