How to make chicken Chardonnay?
The most important is you need one pan only and to have chicken steaks at room temperature. We prefer boneless skinless chicken breasts. Every time we have Chardonnay Chicken with Chili Dumplings, we use the same type of meat. What changes is the side dish. Instead of chili dumplings, sometimes I serve sauteed mushrooms or any steamed vegetables.
So, to make this main dish, you start with cooking chicken breasts for five minutes on both sides, add garlic and thyme and then Chardonnay.
What type of wine is Chardonnay?
It is dry white wine, easy to find and great for cooking. It brings out flavours of white meat.
I skip heavy cream to have creamy Chardonnay sauce. Instead, we prefer light version of Chardonnay chicken. Once you add your wine to golden brown meat, it also deglazes your pan. It means that liquid loosen the bits remaining on the bottom. It gives such a rich flavor wine sauce to the dish once you serve it!
What white wine is good for cooking?
Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Dry Vermouth, Dry Riesling, Marsala and Champagne.

While your chicken is cooking prepare chili dumplings. It is so easy to make this homemade pasta to serve as side dish! Fill your medium sized pot with water and a pinch of salt and let it boil. In meantime, combine all dumpling ingredients in medium sized bowl and drop them into boiling water. They are ready the moment they start floating. Take them out, rinse under cold water and serve both Chardonnay sauce and chili dumplings.

Chardonnay Chicken with Chili Dumplings
Chardonnay Chicken with Chili Dumplings: easy chicken breasts Chardonnay dinner recipe. Spicy chili dumplings from scratch served as a side dish.
Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken steaks
- 1 Tbsp sunflower oil
- 1 garlic clove, chopped
- dry thyme leaves, salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 1 cup Chardonnay wine
- Dumplings' ingredients:
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp chili powder
- Pinch of nutmeg, grounded
- Salt to taste
- more flour if your dumplings are too soft to boil, optional
Instructions

Salt steaks to taste.

In a frying pan, cook chicken steaks for 5 minutes on each side. Add garlic and a pinch of thyme.

When the steaks turn golden brown, add white wine ( Chardonnay ) and reduce the heat to medium so the ingredients combine well, slowly boiling for 15 minutes.

While steaks are cooking , combine all dumpling ingredients and leave aside.

In medium sized pot, boil the water with the pinch of salt and start making noodles using teaspoon. Drop them into the boiling water. Dumplings are ready when they raise to surface.

Serve immediately.
